Rachael is a North Canterbury local, born and bred in Woodend. She graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in 2014. While studying, Rachael worked in a Christchurch law firm and then commenced work as a solicitor in Rangiora in 2015.
Rachael was part of the establishment of Conway Lane Law in 2017 and subsequently became a Director in January 2018, making her one of the youngest lawyers in New Zealand at the time to reach that position.
Rachael leads the property team at Conway Lane Law and has a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of property law (including buying and selling property, subdivisions, easements, and occupation right agreements). Rachael and the property team specialise in helping first-home buyers into the property market, including assisting with KiwiSaver withdrawals, and also advise clients on lending, guarantees and refinancing.
Rachael has significant experience advising on relationship property matters, including the division of assets on separation, contracting out agreements, and property sharing arrangements. She works closely with clients to provide clear, practical advice during what can often be a complex and sensitive time.
Rachael also advises on wills, trusts, estates, enduring powers of attorney, dispute resolution, and provides independent legal advice on a variety of matters.
