Meet Our Team
Tim graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics). Tim began his legal career at Russell McVeagh in Auckland in 2004, before moving to London in 2007, where he worked for a large commercial law firm and as an in-house legal advisor for British Telecommunications.
In 2011, Tim returned to New Zealand and settled in Christchurch. He worked at large Christchurch law firms before commencing work in Rangiora in 2015, where he became a partner in 2017.
Tim is an expert in all business law matters, including establishing new businesses, buying and selling existing businesses, restructuring and succession planning, commercial contracts, capital and debt funding, corporate governance and compliance.
Tim also advises clients on buying and selling property, leasing property, establishing and managing family trusts and other private client matters.

Rachael is a North Canterbury local, born and bred in Woodend. She graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in 2014. While studying, Rachael worked in a Christchurch law firm and then commenced work as a solicitor in Rangiora in 2015.
Rachael became a Partner of Conway Lane Law in January 2018, becoming one of the youngest lawyers in New Zealand at the time to reach that position.
Rachael leads the property team at Conway Lane Law and has a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of property law (including buying and selling property, subdivisions, easements, and occupation right agreements). Rachael and the property team specialise in helping first-home buyers into the property market, assisting with Kiwisaver withdrawals and Homestart grant applications.
Rachael also advises on wills, trusts, estates, enduring powers of attorney, separations, contracting out agreements, dispute resolution and provides independent legal advice on a variety of matters.

Jennifer joined Conway Lane Law, as a Senior Associate, in 2023 upon her return from the UK where she worked for the UK’s leading conveyancing firm.
She has a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of property law including buying and selling property, subdivisions and easements.
Jennifer specialises in helping buyers and sellers confidently navigate the property market, including advising first-home buyers and assisting clients with bank lending and refinancing.
Jennifer also advises on wills, trusts, estates, enduring powers of attorney, separations, contracting out agreements and provides independent legal advice on a variety of matters.

Olivia is a Registered Legal Executive who joined Conway Lane Law in March 2021. Olivia gained her Legal Executive Diploma in 2018 and has been part of the legal profession in Christchurch for over ten years.
Olivia has experience in residential conveyancing including first home buyers who require assistance with Kiwisaver and First Home Grants. She also has experience with asset protection work including Family Trusts, Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney.

Legal Administrator Melissa (Mel) joined the team in March 2023. Mel is one of the friendly faces you will see when you come into Conway Lane Law.
Mel prides herself on her client relationships and always goes the extra mile to assist clients.
Originally from the UK, she traveled extensively before settling in Rangiora. Mel has a wide variety of administrative experience and will assist clients with buying and selling properties.

Rachel started working in the legal field having just left high school. After a career break to raise her family, she joined Conway Lane Law in February 2024. Rachel has over 12 years of experience providing secretarial support in a wide range of legal areas including residential conveyancing, relationship property, commercial, estates and asset planning. She is currently working towards gaining her Legal Executive Diploma. She enjoys building a rapport with clients and always endeavours to exceed expectations.

Mackenzie joined Conway Lane Law in August 2024 as the receptionist for the firm. She’s the smiling face that will greet you in reception. With a strong background in customer service, Mackenzie prioritizes clients’ needs and is always ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. Whilst giving exceptional customer service to our clients, Mackenzie is also committed to assisting and supporting the team in the background. Mackenzie is new to the legal industry but enjoys adding new skills to her skill set and appreciates the variety of jobs involved with running a fast-paced reception area.
